Immediately upon executing a contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Haugland Group mobilized began design and construction on a temporary alternate care facility (ACF) to provide COVID-19 treatment in Westchester, NY. Haugland Group assembled a team of industry experts, including designers, engineers, suppliers and technical project managers to assist on the great effort. The team made quick work to perform preliminary assessments, contact subcontractors and obtain the materials needed. The facility received substantial completion in three weeks, and adds 110 ICU-spec’d beds to one of the hardest hit COVID-19 regions in the country.

Teamwork, patriotism and humanity were among the most powerful tools used by the crews to substantially complete the design-build project in the allotted 21 days. Haugland Energy, Grace Industries and Midnight Trucking all contributed to the expeditious execution of the project.

Haugland Group is thankful to the USACE, New York State and local governments, the NYSDOT, our subcontractors, vendors and team members that banded together, working tirelessly for the good of our community. We are proud to be a part of the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, providing essential services to support our critical infrastructures.
