Haugland Energy was contracted to install 69kV underground transmission, 15kV underground distribution and 69kV overhead transmission at the PSEGLI Orchard Substation expansion. Drainage installation, grading and landscaping of wet meadow area was completed in twelve weeks with an eight-person crew.

The scope of work included the installation of two sets of approximately 300 feet of 69kV underground transmission cable in HPDE conduit between two terminator structures, and two sets of 400 feet of 15kV bus tie in six inch PVC conduit between 2½ line switchgear line ups. 69kV overhead transmission poles and conductors were relocated to both new and existing take off structures in the substation, and a bypass of the overhead 69kV transmission lines was installed. This part of the project included 90 foot steel pole sets, and routing the overhead conductors around the substation to accommodate the install of the new Substation GCB breakers and associated bus work. Additionally, excavating, grading, drainage installation, landscaping and spill way installation for erosion control were completed in wet meadow area.
