Scope: Install a 7-mile, 138kV underground transmission circuit in Western Nassau County (Long Island, New York), between the Valley Stream Substation and East Garden City Substation.

Grace Industries (a Haugland Group Company) was contracted to provide all civil construction work required of the project, including excavation, trench backfill with approximately 37,000 cubic yards of flowable thermal backfill (FTB) which was manufactured from native sand generated from our trenching operation, and the management of horizontal directional drilling (HDD). Haugland Energy (another Haugland affiliate) completed all the cable pulling, splicing (69) in manholes and terminations (6) using a trained and certified splicing team, as well as fiber optic communication installations.
