Haugland Energy (HE) was contracted by Florida Power & Light for a groundbreaking project manufactured by Taihan, involving the expansion of an existing electrical substation on Virginia Key, Florida. In addition, the project includes the installation of another transmission line spanning from Virginia Key, under Biscayne Bay, through PortMiami on Dodge Island, and extending to Miami Beach. This effort enhances the power transmission network, connecting critical urban and coastal areas while improving reliability and energy resilience.
The 7,720-foot cable pull, which traverses various challenging terrains, including underwater sections, represents a significant feat of engineering and logistics. This transmission line will play a vital role in strengthening the energy grid and ensuring a reliable power supply to Miami and the surrounding areas.
