Haugland Energy was contracted by Soltage for the design-build delivery of a 5 MW BESS installation, including engineering and design, material procurement (excluding owner-supplied batteries), construction, and testing and commissioning. Haugland received a 30% design package and completed the remaining engineering and design to finalize the system.
Haugland managed permitting, ensuring all approvals were secured before construction. The team procured and supplied all major equipment except the Tesla Megapacks, which were provided by the client.
Construction included site preparation, excavation, forming, and concrete placement for system foundations. Haugland self-performed installation of all major equipment, including the Megapacks, and completed all wiring and connections. All mechanical systems were installed to meet fire protection and detection requirements per code.
Testing, startup, and commissioning were performed by Haugland in coordination with Tesla and Con Edison. The project was completed and successfully interconnected to the Con Edison distribution system.
