I’m an Administrative Assistant with the Southeast Regional Team at Haugland Group and have been for three years. My daily duties include supporting crews during morning briefings, invoicing, time sheets, per diems, and various administrative tasks.

Previously, I worked as an executive assistant at a southeastern furniture chain. I moved from the furniture industry to construction without any specific motivation or experience, driven by the similarity in administrative work across industries. I found the job listing on LinkedIn and was impressed by Haugland’s scale and scope of work.

My role significantly impacts the efficiency of our linemen crew. By handling the administrative tasks, it allows them to focus solely on their work, whether it be restoring power after a storm or building a whole new line. I enjoy the strong connections with the crews and being their go-to person for support. I value the supportive and family-like environment at Haugland. With every other place I’ve ever worked at you had people that you worked with but here we’re not coworkers, we’re family. That makes a big difference working with somebody that you consider your family or your best friend. I love the camaraderie that we all have and how we all look out for each other and just work very well together. Nobody feels like they’re above anybody else here.

In my 40 years of working, this has been THE best job I have ever had. I would advise women considering a career in construction to take the leap, as it can be very rewarding and fulfilling.
