Labor Foreman – Florida

Haugland Group, a privately-owned civil infrastructure and energy construction company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Labor Foreman to join our team. The position will be based out of our office in the Tampa, Florida area.

Key Functions

  • Supervise and direct the daily activities of the construction crews on-site to work safely.
  • Ensure construction work aligns with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Implementing labor, equipment, and materials efficiently.
  • Record progress, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with project Superintendent.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily quantities, activities, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Train and mentor crew members to ensure high performance and morale.
  • Communicate updates and progress reports to stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; continued college education is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in underground utility construction and trenching, with at least 2 years in a Foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, and support of excavations.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and use construction software and mobile tools.
  • OSHA 10 training required. OSHA 30 Training is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Confined space training and experience is a plus.
