Civil General Foreman – Florida

Haugland Group, a privately-owned civil infrastructure and energy construction company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Civil General Foreman to join our team. The position will be based out of our office in the Tampa, Florida area.

Key Functions

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction crews on-site.
  • Ensure construction work aligns with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently.
  • Monitor progress, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve any issues or delays.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, labor hours, and materials used.
  • Train and mentor crew members to ensure high performance and morale.
  • Communicate updates and progress reports to stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in construction management software and mobile tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
