WORKFORCE & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
I was encouraged by a neighbor to apply to Haugland Group in 2019. I started as an intern and was hired full-time in 2020, initially working in the contract administration department, which later evolved into the project support department. My daily responsibilities include reviewing job costs, ensuring financial accuracy, and managing audit requests. I was part of the first internship program here at Haugland, and many of the interns have transitioned to full-time roles, which is impressive compared to other companies.
After some time here, I wanted to move into a finance-driven field, which lead me to a real estate accounting firm in New York City. However, after two years, I realized Haugland Group was more advanced and developed, so I returned. I appreciate the company’s culture, systems, IT department, and ability to create custom reports, which makes everything more efficient. The working environment at Haugland Group is very supportive, fun, and family-oriented.
My goal is to streamline processes, making them less manual and time-consuming. By reducing hours-long tasks to minutes, I aim to help both my department and the project support side, ensuring quicker and more accurate results.
What I enjoy most about working at Haugland Group is the driven and ambitious people. Tasks are completed without issues, and everyone is supportive. I advise women considering a career in construction to seize every opportunity and grow, as being a woman in construction is uncommon.
I realized Haugland Group was the right place for me after experiencing a less sophisticated company with fewer resources. Haugland offers endless opportunities and supports employees’ success. If you achieve your goals in one department, you can explore other prospects.
