During Climate Week NYC The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced that through Haugland Group LLC’s affiliate, Modern Efficient Transport & Supply (M.E.T.S.), our innovative barging operation has eliminated 250,000 truck trips and more than 7.5 million miles of truck travel, reducing congestion, emissions, noise, and dust in surrounding communities.

As our CEO, Billy Haugland, stated “By moving construction materials and debris by barge rather than truck, we helped reduce congestion, emissions, and disruption in the neighborhoods surrounding JFK while delivering meaningful benefits to the surrounding community.”

This achievement demonstrates how innovative infrastructure solutions can advance environmental stewardship while supporting one of the region’s most transformative projects.
