Matthew Beaton is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Haugland Group. Mr. Beaton was formerly Sr. Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Initiatives at TRC companies, Inc. In this capacity, Mr. Beaton served in an executive leadership role on TRC’s National Business Development group as well as leading TRC’s Renewable Energy and Data Center integrated project development teams. He was previously the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and former Chairman of the MA Water Resources Authority, MA Energy Facilities Siting Board and the MA Clean Energy Center. Matt was also a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, practiced as an environmental engineer, owned and operated a construction and energy efficiency company and is a LEED Accredited Professional who built and resides in the first certified Passive House in Massachusetts. Matt received a B.S. in Biotechnology w/Environmental Engineering concentration from WPI and a M.S. in Energy and Environmental Studies from Boston University. Matt has a passion for the outdoors, is a former member of the US National Rowing Team, serves on a number of boards in his community and currently resides in Massachusetts with his 3 children and wife Laura.
