Eastern Utilities Services crews completed a highly technical horizontal directional drilling (HDD) intersect to install a 20-inch gas main beneath a river and environmentally sensitive wetlands in Northern Pennsylvania.
The project required extensive planning, custom fabrication, and precise coordination, including the installation and extraction of more than 760 feet of 48-inch steel conductor casing to satisfy permit requirements and mitigate inadvertent return risks.
