Massachusetts Transmission Line

The project is a vital piece of a broader 50-project regional suite developed by Eversource and National Grid to enhance electrical capacity and flexibility during emergency events. By eliminating long-standing bottlenecks in the regional power grid, this line helps stabilize rates for ratepayers across the state. [1, 2, 3] This new,115-kilovolt (kV) transmission line is one of a group of projects designed to improve the reliability of the electric system serving the Greater Boston area, both today and in the future. The new line was constructed between the Eversource substation in Sudbury, and the Hudson Light and Power substation in Hudson.
